Discovery of Hydrogen

This element was observed and being collected until Robert Boyle in 1671 recognized the element as a unique gas. It was first truly recognized and known as a distinct gas in 1766 by Henry Cavendish, and it is named by a French chemist Antoine Lavoisier.

*The word hydrogen itself is derived from the Greek words ‘hydro’ and ‘genes’ which means forming of water, because it is the element which helps the forming of water when combined with oxygen.

Uses and Role of Hydrogen

People entitled hydrogen as the clean fuel of the future, it is seen as pollutant-free kind of gas. The usage and essence of H in different industries is vital, to account and consider some, in chemical industry, It is combined and used with some other elements to produce different kind of productions such as polymers, margarine and other production used for medical purposes. In fuel, this element plays a big role in removing sulfur, and also in making a flat sheets of glass.

Currently, Scientists of our generation is finding a new way to produce a high amount of it or pure hydrogen artificially, since pure hydrogen are hard to be found and is beneath or located in small underground pocket.
